Parking fines

Hi, just looking for any advice. I received a 'letter before action' from Civil Enforcement for an unpaid parking charge notice. The parking fee relates to a time when I stayed at a hotel and must have forgotten to log my car details, annoyingly the hotel has now changed hands and of course do not have a record of my stay….I do however have a receipt for the stay. As I am currently caring for my mother at her property I am not living at my main address and have lodgers living there. I did not receive the letter in time to make an appeal to Civil Enforcement, I have not been able to find any contact details at all for Civil Enforcement as I would now like to take some proactive steps rather than just waiting for a baliff at some up at the house. I am not in a position to pay the fine as I care for my mum and only work part time.

Any advice?

No bailiffs will come calling ( there is no fine either, just an invoice from CEL. )

Ensure that you email the DPO at CEL and give them the correct address for the service of papers, known as a Data Rectification Notice, with proof

Yep send the usual reply to LBCs (shown in post 2 of the NEWBIES thread). That template already covers address changes too.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
