Creditlock and Vodafone decline
Hi all
I totally forgot I had credit lock and Vodafone declined me for a broadband contract. I have very good credit and while I am irritated they didn't even let me know, after releasing the lock they tried again and it was declined. Is there anything else I can do (aside from looking at an alternative provider)?
Thanks in advance.

When you say you have very good credit, what do you mean? If you mean your score is high, that means nothing, since it's not even visible to a lender. A lender will score you internally according to their particular lending criteria (which will vary from one lender to another).
Best guess is that you simply don't meet Vodafone's criteria, whatever they may be.
All you can really do, if you don't meet Vodafone's criteria, is to look at other providers. Or else stay with your current one and see if you can negotiate a better deal with them.

You had a block on your account that caused the credit check to fail (that is not something Vodafone would know, just that it was declined)
Depending how long after you tried again, perhaps it didn't filter through in time? Why not ask for a manual review?
Incidentally, don't pay Experian for anything, you don't need to, all the info can be gathered freely and a CIFAS protective marker is better value if you were at risk of fraud
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

@cliveofindia it was purely to do with the credit lock. @nasqueron I don't pay for Experian. my company paid for it along with CIFAS a couple of years ago as a precaution against a breach.
