Going on Holiday while on UC?

I remember reading on another forum several people who regularly got sanctioned for trips abroad, ( looking for work) would return and apply for hardship payments. So there's always a way around to soften the blow.

Receiving a hardship payment to mitigate the impact of sanction seems like an inconsistent way for the system to function.

I think it must operate under a legal legislation but it makes a sanction less effective, and at 0% interest over nearly two years at 25 a month. You can see why they would.

Hardship payments are recoverable.
Not everyone would need or be entitled to a hardship payment.

It's now a requirement to report going outside of Great Britain and can be found under the report a change section on a UC account.

It was meant to be satiric of course! I always use that as a bit of private put down to those who are a bit pompous etc - ie "he must think he is CEO of ICI!" - naturally it goes above most people's heads these days, which make it all the more fun!
