Seeing Other Folks Accounts

So its happening again! I was surprised to see that folks from 3 major banks could see other folks bank accounts. Back in 2018 when TSB were leaving the Lloyds platform there was a huge scam. Folks could see each others accounts and scammers moved in . They scrambled internet banking users passwords and syphoned the money off their accounts. I should know , it happened to me twice within a fortnight, the second time after the bank itself had reset my security and I had been given a special password to use when receiving calls from them. ( The scammers generated a phone number which could have been the bank's.) I had no access to my money and a family member had to transport me plus wheelchair to the branch as the phone lines were overwhelmed and to be sure of security identity they needed to see me with my passport. I settled for getting my money back (twice) and total compensation £700. I could have gone to court , but my health was too fragile for any long drawn out case. I ran down the account gradually and closed it ( sad really because I liked their client care and would have recommended them in the past), although occasionally since I have received calls claiming to be TSB about bank transactions. Usually if I say I have no accounts or I closed accounts they ring off quickly - the scammers again. Some of you may remember this happening. Money Box Live reported on it extensively as did the press widely. A committee was formed in Parliament to look into the situation. My then MP passed an email I sent him about it to them. I just hope that the clients of these banks don't live a similar experience.
