I am currently running Windows Vista and using Outlook as my email. I use Outlook at work and i know that you can retrieve emails deleted out of the recycle bin, but i cant seem to find it on Vista.

Any ideas anyone ??? i'v stupidly deleted an email without reading it and apparently it had some info i need.

Outlook does not exist in Vista, what you are looking for is Windows Mail.
Just type it into your search box.

Is there not a 'deleted items' folder in Outlook?

You sure you get them out the recycle bin at work?
  • yes robt, at work we can retrieve deleted files, or we can delete them fully. It must be on an office thing they using, will have to double check, but i'm not in till Monday and really needed this email.

Is anyone else very confused as to what exactly the original poster is trying to find?

The deleted items folder in your mail program?

When connected to an Exchange server, and you "Empty Deleted Items", there is also an option on the same menu to "Recover Deleted Items". That is, when you've deleted an e-mail, and subsequently emptied everything out of the deleted items folder, there is a chance that it can still be recovered.

My experience is that this behaviour is peculiar to an Outlook/Exchange setup and thus if the OP is using the POP or IMAP4 protocol to retrieve his messages from his ISP, this option will not be available.
