DEFUALT JUDGEMENT

I am at loss at this and I need help if you can:

I was prompted to check my credit report and found a ccj on my report.I was shocked as I believed I've settled the matter more than six montths ago. I chose to pay within 30 days with my credit card but there was an error of £3.

Facts:

At the time the parking claim form was issued, I was not present in the United Kingdom. I had traveled to Ghana on 11 June 2025 and remained there during the period when the claim was served

Due to my absence from the United Kingdom, I was unaware of the proceedings and therefore unable to respond to the claim before judgment was entered on 03 July 2025.

Upon my return to the UK and becoming aware of the judgment, I immediately took steps to settle the outstanding amount. On 25 July 2025, I made a payment through your agent’s DCB legal with the intention of paying the full judgment sum of £285.02 within the 30-day period following judgment. Unfortunately, due to an inadvertent typing error on my part during the payment process, the amount paid was £282.02, resulting in a shortfall of £3.00.

I am not sure what really happened as I had a credit limit of 2500 so there was no way I will short pay £3 but it happend and now DCB customer service is threatending to leave this ccj on my credit report

what should I do?

I believe I sholud have contested the original judgment but looking back , the applciation fee was 313 but the jsugment was 285.02 and I chose to make 285 but made an error paying 282

You've got no choice but to do an application and should NEVER have paid this. That wasn't the best decision because of what has happened.

You also have zero leverage asking DCB Legal to consent now, because you paid it and they don't care about £3 and if they consent, they'll refuse to pay your costs.

Therefore put in an N244 application. As explained in the NEWBIES thread 2nd post.
