British Gas back billing

Good news. BG have made an offer via the ombudsman which takes me from -£1200 (debt) to £78 (in credit). Having recut my entire billing history from 2023 to end of May 2026 and applied back billing credits. I have 7 days to consider their offer which I’ll likely accept. It seems that BG would not consider agreeing to the back billing rules unless you open a case with the energy ombudsman.

I’ve received and accepted an offer via the ombudsman from BG. In essence they’ve zero'd my account. They’ve accepted that this was their issue and have applied back billing credits to my account which means my debt of £1289 has been adjusted to £0.
