Stansted fine… from 8 months ago!
I took my son away for the February half term and my boyfriend dropped us off at the airport. Both of us forgot to pay the drop off charge, but it was my car so the fine came to me.
I used the template I’ve seen circulating on these forums to appeal the fine. The template is obviously worded a lot better, but the gist of it was that I wasn’t the driver and I dispute the fine on the grounds they can’t hold the registered keeper accountable and I refuse to give them the details of the driver.
Fast forward to today…. I’ve conveniently received ANOTHER fine for when I went on holiday last year in the summer holidays- 30/07/2025😂
At the time, I was using a courtesy car as my car was in for repair. I can’t remember 100%, but I’m pretty sure my boyfriend was driving then too.
So my question is! Do I just suck it up and pay the fine? Or can I use the same template to appeal this fine as well? Can Stansted even issue me a fine from 8 months ago?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

…except in this case you were the hirer/lessee (not registered keeper) so you'll be using the Edna_Basher appeal for hired cars - it's clearly shown in the NEWBIES thread. Not the blue appeal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD5 -
As above, use the Edna Basher hirer template in post 1 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Which private parking company claimant issued the pcn invoice. ? ( its definitely NOT a fine. )

Thank you all for the replies!
It’s from Apcoa. I’ve just looked at the letter again and yep! It’s a „parking charge“, not a fine. They just always look so formal and so I panicked. But both me and my boyfriend were insured to drive the hire car, so I’ll go check out that other template you’ve mentioned and appeal.
Thank you so much!
