Fuse Gas Capping?

Hi all, I'm currently with EDF and at the end of my tariff and planning to switch to Fuse.

I have tried asking EDF to cap our meter, or remove it, as we are switching from dual fuel to electricity only, but am getting no help from them.

The alternative is to switch to Fuse as dual fuel and then ask them to cap the gas, but I don't know if they will do this, or what sort of amount they charge, and have been unable to find out. It seems their support is via app only, and as we are not yet customers, we don't have it yet.

I'm concerned it may cost us more than it would with EDF - which is supposed to be £80 according to other info sources (here and AI). If this is the case, I would start pushing EDF to get their finger out. We have 3 weeks until they put us on standard variable - though that is currently not too bad (£132pm), we would rather have it all sorted by April, of course.

Anyone had their gas capped or meter removed by Fuse?

I haven't heard of anyone having their gas capped by Fuse. They're such a small supplier that this isn't a surprise.

Octopus will remove a gas service for free.

British Gas also remove gas meter and cap supply FOC and they do not charge exit fee for changing from fixed rate to another fixed rate unlike Octopus who do.

    Fuse appear to charge £141

That's very useful - thank you. Time to get on that blower to EDF! They've ignored my emails requesting disconnection.Phoning them and trying to get to speak to an actual person is a frustrating experience, but if I speak gobbledygook enough it seems to do the trick.

*the website info is good, too - from posts here I got the impression they only used an app and there was nothing else. Should have looked.

Okay, we finally got EDF to agree to disconnect our gas and remove the meter - and so far they have said nothing about charges.

Thing is, last night I contacted Fuse, and despite it being very late in the evening, I got a response within minutes. First a very comprehensive and useful answer from their AI (the best response I've seen from any company AI) and then by a person a few minutes later. Anyway, they said that Fuse won't disconnect gas supplies for customers. So I'm thinking that the list of charges posted by @bristolleedsfan is probably for mandatory disconnections.

Anyway - sorted. Thanks for all input 😊
