It’s an apple iwatch. It has a falls detector on it. If you fall it beeps at you. Asks you if you are ok & gives the option of phoning emergency services or whoever you have nominated. Which reminds me I must change the nominee. You need a iPhone for it to work and when I did my research the watch needed to be an se or above. As I say it’s not for everyone but it works for me.

Apple have never used the term "iWatch" (trade mark conflict when it launched).
Have you managed to test the fall detector on your watch? I have similar on a Samsung and have never managed to check it - the watch has to be on the wrist and it's really quite hard to simulate a fall unless you're in a dojo.

Thanks for the explanation. Unfortunately wouldn't work for my elderly relative but useful to know about.

Yes. I have cerebral palsy and fall a lot even using aids. So very much tested.

I had a Google pixel watch briefly but sent it back because the fall detection system went off in the night when I was safely in bed sleeping. It woke me up with a terrible shock and I only just managed to respond within the time limit before it called 999

We went with the council one for Mum, they do send out emergency services if the person doesn't have any one to help them up, or they don't respond to call handler when the alarm goes off. It is also easy to cancel contract when no longer needed (not so easy with AgeUK). The councils tend to use Careline, it also works out cheaper than AgeUK. The base plugs in unlike a watch that will need charging (capacity to remember to charge) and has a battery back up for power cuts.

My parents are subscribed to a falls lifting service. They provide a pendant or wrist strap that can either auto detect falls and call for help, or else be activated by a button push, whichever is preferred.
The falls people are supposed to come out within 30 minutes, which on most occasions they have done.
This is what they use, don't know the geographical coverage:
I agree with those saying that social services at the council are your best port of call to find out what's in your area. That's how we found out about it.
