    Also, what kind of boat could hold person and a sack of corn, but not manage the additional weight of a fox and a chicken? Just how big is this chicken?

    And why isn't the chicken in some sort of cage - which would prevent it eating the corn, or from just wandering off whilst the farmer is absent. Who transports a loose chicken? Or a loose fox for that matter.

    And how much of a sack of corn could a single chicken eat in the few minutes it was left unattended? (though if it's big enough to sink a boat, maybe quite a lot)

    Can you imagine being in a little tippy boat with a hungry fox under one arm and a hungry chicken under the other? How could you paddle??
