Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Nice weather again yesterday, fairly mild with a bit of sunshine and a gentle breeze - the washing dried a treat! Sadly back to rain this morning, glad I cut the grass, it looks a lot tidier now.
Nice little shopping trip with DD and the little one although LO insists on touching everything so I went round TK Maxx quite nervously! She fell in love with a magnifying glass so I bought it for her, better than some plastic rubbish. Went to visit friends family before they head off back to NI this afternoon. Lodger still asleep but will need to get up for Uni soon.
Sorry your meal wasn't great Ruby but glad you had a good time.
Thinking of all those with worries, take care. XX

Morning @Gers morning all
Another misty, murky day here but weather forecast says we will get some sun later.
Off to big shopping centre today to take back a pair of trousers for DH who got 2 pairs for our holiday that never happened and the ones that don't fit will go back. Will have a mooch round while there. Have booked a holiday nearer to home for June which will coincide with our 45th wedding anniversary.
Might get out into the garden this afternoon if the promised sun appears.
Have a good day all x

Thanks for the start @Gers
I survived the step ladders and, other than cleaning the tiled floor, the conservatory is clean and tidy;though it also serves as a mini greenhouse for seeds for a month or so!
3.5 days at work this week so I’ll be shattered by Thursday, and probably annoyed at the lack of other things I’ve got done!
hope everyone has a good weekAA

morning everyone foggy and damp today and dare I say miserable or at least I am got a phone call yesterday canceling our holiday to Northumberland on Saturday the boiler has broken in the holiday cottage and despite the engineer trying to fix it they need a new boiler so that is happening the week we are supposed to be there we obviously can’t go with no hot water or heating they were very apologetic and the money was straight back in the bank and there’s nothing we can do about it we have been going to this same cottage for about ten years but we will be there in September and we are away to Norway in may so not to bad really. I’m off out to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up soon otherwise just housework I’m hoping when I get back I can hang my washing out it’s supposed to fairly up we will see otherwise it will be the airier DP1 I hope you have managed to have a easier weekend with your parents and they are more settled. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Back - upstairs stuff seems to take me longer than ever, mind you I do a bit of mooching around in the drawers to collect things to chuck.
I unexpectedly went up to the big town yesterday morning as the Marks order arrived in two days early, only succumbed to a little shopping as I'm away Thursday and Friday. The black bag was taken to the dump and another load of cardboard too. Then I spent the day catching up on on recorded programmes.
This morning I have an appointment at the surgery and then the lovely garden maintenance chap is coming to clear away assorted unwanted garden hardware, mostly from the small barn but also the garden. He's bringing his trailer for it all. I've also asked him to take over the grass cutting this year. The incessant rain makes the job into a chore and then I can't lift the bag of cuttings - he'll use his big petrol mower. One more thing on the list of what I can no longer do or want to do!
There's been a huge fire in the centre of Glasgow which has destroyed some beautiful grand Victorian buildings, it's horrible to watch. Luckily Central Station hasn't been touched by it though it was a close call. @WL - the fire is in the same block as our old favourite Grasshopper hotel. All started by a vape shop.
So sorry about your cancelled holidays @Chrisca50 @IzzyBee , good that new plans are in progress. It's looking more likely that my nephew and family won't be going to Oz on 27 March.
Today would have been my late beloved DM's 98th birthday so I'll raise a wee toast of coffee to her later.
Hope that all is going better with your parents @dp1 - you've got so much on your plate already. Hugs to all today.

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Foggy here. It’s a work day today then I have a tip run booked, need to collect an M&S order and send a Vinted parcel. Trying to make every journey in the car count!!
DH is off to Leighton Buzzard for work today. He was not a happy bunny last night and barely slept. Dinner is pork chops and gnocchi which will hopefully cheer him up!
Sorry about your holiday @IzzyBee xGlad you’re feeling better @snoozer x
Hope your parents are more settled @dp1 x
Have a good day everyone

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's fine here but no idea what's to follow. I haven't seen the forecast of what delights we can expect. Nothing we can do about it anyway!
I never got on here yesterday, as I had a busy day. We went over to the caravan to sort it out after being shut up all winter. It was a bit of a stressful day! DD's DP with us to jet wash the caravan and all the decking. Setback 1 was no water! Meanwhile I was indoors with youngest DGD gathering up dozens of containers of salt left out to avoid damp. No water meant I couldn't empty them or wash them. Site boss got summoned and the water got sorted but a problem with the boiler meant we had no hot water or heating and I was frozen! The kettle was working overtime to wash all the containers etc up. He is going to get the heating engineer over to sort it through the week. He is insistent it won't cost us!
By mid afternoon we'd had enough and left the cleaning for another day. On the way home we stopped off at the excellent farm shop outside Skipton. I was tempted by a couple of their steak pies, a tub of creamy chicken and bacon, which is perfect for jacket spuds, pies or toasted sandwiches, and a lovely gift for my DF. Her birthday is not until late April so it's safely tucked away until then.
Today I am playing catch up. The wm is chugging away with quite a big pile of lights but I expect this will go over the airer upstairs. The dw has just finished so that's to empty too.
IZZY what a shame about your holiday cottage getting cancelled. Is there something in the air with these boilers just now! Have a good day folks if you can, ((HUGS)) for all in need or want of them and take care xx

Morning all
Very foggy here this morning but we are due some sun later on, I am off to mums today we got a call at 10 last night from the care line people to say that mum had fallen and could we go round, OH and I went to find her on the kitchen floor 😩 we managed to get her up and into bed but I bet she will be covered in bruises today bless her, she said she had picked up a heavy book and overbalanced.
Floss yes I will still be supporting O when the new people come, she had no care at all before I started and I have now got her cover for 6 days a week (including my 2) she doesn’t do social media at all and I am a member of several carers pages so advertised on her behalf, it should make both of their lives easier.
Dinner tonight will be something quick with chips maybe fish fingers and beans. I have a wash on the go and will get it out on the line later.
Hugs to you Gers xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks Gers, hope you remember the good times with your DM when you raise your glass. I saw about the fire in Glasgow on FB, looked awful.
Sorry for cancelled hols Chrisca and Izzy.
Sounds like a tricky day at the caravan TA, and sorry you didn't like your steak RRuby but glad you enjoyed your birthday.
It's a murky day so we haven't been out yet . I woke early then fell asleep again- had a weird dream where L dog went missing but he had the combined appearance of all our previous dogs 😀and I found him noseying around in an antique shop!
DGS has school footy practice so we pick him up an hour later, which then means we need an easy tea, prawns for DH & home made meatballs for myself and DS with garlic bread.
Take care all

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting us off today. I've just been reading about the fire in Glasgow, there will certainly be a lot of disruption to trains, buses and surrounding businesses.
We didn't get any rain yesterday after all but it did stay dull; today looks as if it will be much the same. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any sunshine on the horizon for the whole week. 😕
Yesterday passed quietly enough and cross stitch won in the end. The latest one just needs framing (today's job) and I've started another, the third of a set of four. I think I underestimated how long they would take! I'll be spending some time emptying the pantry today in readiness for tomorrow's boiler service - that's where the boiler lives and the engineer will need room to do what he needs to do. It seems a lot of work for what should take him about half an hour but it does give me chance to review what's in there and give it all a good bottoming. Tea tonight is sausages in BBQ sauce, mini roasties and some leftover cauliflower.
@Chrisca - Glad you've been able to book somewhere else for your holiday. Not quite the same I know, but at least it's something.
@Izzy - Oh no, another one with cancelled holiday plans. I'm glad your refund came through quickly and you have a couple of other breaks in the pipeline.
@Gers - The list of what we can no longer do (or takes longer) as we age is so frustrating, isn't it, so I'm glad you have a garden maintenance chap for the heavy stuff.
@TA - So sorry to hear your caravan day didn't quite go as planned, I hope you've thawed out!
@Ruby - Hugs for you and your mum, good job the care line service is in place for her.
@dp1 - Hugs for you too with your parents' situation.
Right, off to tackle the chores so I'll wish everyone a good day. Take care, keep plodding on as best you can. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
