My S&S diary - investing from February 2026

I am giving myself 3 more months to experiment my method to see if it's still falling behind WI in my Dodl Lifetime ISA pot. Trading 212 investments have performed much better yet the majority of the "real" (crystalised earnings) were from the intensive work during Easter holiday and particular geo-political environment, so not typical.
This really is getting silly. If you have not yet understood, nothing that happens over a few months - or even a few years - is giving you any meaningful results of an 'experiment'. It's just short term movement of the sort that always happens. Your 'intensive work' over Easter does not move the global investing dial, and trying to adjust your gains or losses in light of the Iran conflict is equally meaningless. There is always something atypical happening.

Or to put it another way, my portfolio is down 1.5% since the end of February. It is up just over 6% since the end of March.
What matters more to me is that the average unitised annual increase per calendar year is now ~7.5%, whilst individual years' changes have ranged from +17% to -3%.
My oldest holding was bought in 2007, and has been added to several times over the years since. The newest was bought this year, and will also be added to from time to time. Both those are active funds, although there are a couple of passives in the mix.
