Kitchen makeover / replacement

I would replace the doors only if I wanted to keep the same layout. Living without a kitchen for few days is painful, and chances of problems and a poor job increases.
I'm FTB, not an expert, all my comments are from personal experience and not a professional advice.Mortgage debt start date = 11/2024 = 175k (5.19% interest rate, 20 year term)- Q4/2024 = 139.3k (5.19% -> 4.94%)
- **/2025 = 44k (4.94% -> 3.94%)
- Q1/2026 = PAID (3.94%)

A bit like Trigger’s broom then 😁

OP, I did a DIY job of repainting the doors in our old house. Took me well over a week, and I'm happy to say I did a really great job (even though I say so myself). The doors and drawers looked bob on. After about 4 or 5 months, the chips started to appear and I soon realised that it would have been far more effective to replace the doors and drawer fronts to start with. And a lot easier too. We were selling so I wasn't too bothered though, and this was a 1980's style kitchen that was well past it's best. Most of any new kitchen you'll actually see are the drawers, doors, and worktops, so why replace stuff you won't see if it's in good working order? I'm with others above, leave it for a few years and replace if you are staying, leave it if not.

Have you heard of vinyl wrapping? A friend owns a business where they wrap kitchen doors etc with vinyl, very successfully, like they do with cars. It's durable and doesn't cost as much as replacing the doors.

Thanks my last car was vinyl wrapped for while. I rememer my dad 'fablon''ing some furniture when I was a kid in the 1970's.

Thanks, to be fair be fair there's no chance I would have entertained those prices.
