Why are you repeating what I said?
May I remind you that your opening post was the one that stated:
"I had a friend living with me for a few years, no contract or anything"
Small claims is intended to be usable without legal representation but judges still expect the basics and some will take incorrect statements like the above as a fact as it's what you are declaring to them. If you want to increase your odds then dont state you didnt have a contract when you did have a contract, it was just verbal.
No need to repost this for a second time.

There is a supposedly true story about a contract dispute that reached the court of appeal.
The plaintiff's barrister began by saying "My lords, a contract requires both offer and acceptance" to which one of the three judges yawned and said "I think you can assume we understand the basics"….
Quick as a flash the barrister replied "I made that mistake in the lower court my lord, that is why we are here"!
