60 hours is a long time for an outage, but for an extensive set of changes, the implementation plan has to allow time for the changes to be made, tested, and if necessary, all the changes to be reversed. Any plan running for more that 10 hours also needs to allow time for staff to rest or to handover to others. (Before I retired, I was Project Manager and developed and ran many implementation plans for extensive system changes. The last one I ran had 600 tasks in total; covering changes, testing and backout. The critical path took about 10 hours so we could do it overnight when the systems were down for customers anyway, which was lucky because the first two attempts failed and we did have to backout the changes to restore the systems for the following day)
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.6
