It's good to see the standard 2nd class LL is unchanged at £1.55 but the price for 1st class LL is going to a ridiculous £3.20 . £3.95 for a standard 2nd class small parcel - which means SD , at the current costs, is almost £1 a cheaper than sending yourself although I suspect that will change. (these are online prices)
For those that use the PO or stamps, 2nd class small parcel will be £4.25.

It makes no sense. The online prices are £3.95 for a standard second class parcel, £3.65 for the same thing tracked 48.

Goodness, I hadn't noticed that, how strange.

Apologies if posted elsewhere already, but I've seen the Royal Mail price changes have been published, starting April 7th. Unless I'm reading it wrong or missing something for Personal Customers, but there's a hike on Small Parcel up to 2kg sent Standard Class from £3.50 to £3.95. Yet Tracked 48, which offers an additional £55.00 insurance, only increased by 10p to £3.65 ?

Just noticed another (annoying) quirk of next Tuesday's changes. The Medium Parcel <5kg category has gone and it's now 2kg then 10kg. I suspect this change is to fall in line with eBay's Simple Delivery where next one up from 2kg max is: <15kg.

For a quick side-by-side comparison of the old vs new April 2026 prices, I've been using a page on postofficehours.co.uk/postage-rates - it has stamps, large letters, parcels, size limits, and international rates all on one page. Handy for checking at a glance without opening PDFs.

The site is limited by the fact that it is Post office based, so whilst useful for those who only use over the counter services for those who are considering switching to buying postage online it more be more useful to compare the online prices with over the counter prices as they vary quite a bit.

The international price for a letter size up to 100g (my item fits this) is £3.50 but eBay charges £3.60 yet they claim to be cheaper so how does that work?

Where do you see £3.50?
As far as I can see, Royal Mail now charges £3.60
