Is it only me, or is Yahoo mail awful? I have a sky.com email address which uses Yahoo to fetch and send email to my laptop.

When trying to compose an email there is a lag of one or two seconds between typing a character and it actually appearing onscreen.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program and cleared the cache on all the browsers on the laptop but nothing makes a difference. I dont believe that the mouse , keyboard or laptop is faulty as this only happens with Yahoo.

What else can I try?

Yahoo mail works normally on my Samsung phone.

grateful for any suggestions

Also bulk delete of old emails only works when it feels like it. I deleted 1000+ yesterday but today the same process will not work.

    • Sky recommend that you use Outlook or Gmail as your email client, bit odd since Sky email is a Yahoo service with a badge on but hey ho. Worth a go.

With the recent "update" they have really made a mess of what used to be IMHO a reasonable layout.

Also I recently got a message saying that the account storage was being reduced.

"We’re writing to let you know about some upcoming changes to your email service, Yahoo Mail.

These changes are scheduled to go into effect on 05/05/2026.

Your Yahoo Mail storage is changing

Yahoo Mail is designed to help you stay organised and get more done, faster. That means building features that put you in control, from smarter mailbox tools to time-saving shortcuts. As part of ongoing improvements to our service, we have decided to reduce storage limits for Yahoo Mail accounts, which means that your account will be subject to a new limit of 15 GB of storage."

This means my storage is changing from 1TiB to 15GiB, of which I am only using 28MiB, so not a problem (for me)

Yes the "New" Yahoo Mail looks a bit chunky I have to say.
