MSE Exclusive: E.on Next 15 month fix
does anyone know if this is a time of use tarrif and if so what it classes as "day rates" vs Night
Rates"

I think that's the Economy 7 tariff, for E7-capable meters. Seven hours of overnight cheap-rate plus seventeen hours of daytime rate.
Yes it's time-of-use but it's not specifically a smart tariff.
Why do you ask?

EOns standard E7 is for new customers (if not legacy non smart meters) I guess almost certainly one single 7 hr block overnight.
There might be small regional variations though - say like off peak 0000-0700 or 0030 to 0730 GMT nominals + any preset meter offset (commonly in the 0-10min range - but in theory upto 29:59 iirc on smets2).
At one stage their T&CS explicitly stated they wouldn't support any more than 1 off peak period in 24 hours - something they called complex metering. But the wording changed again - and they do still support some legacy customers on different basis - like my E10 - at least until my next (8 yr old smart smets1 to smets2) upgrade.

thank you all for your replies.
Some people have asked for more information on what im asking so to clarify
I have solar and battery storage and am currently with E.on for my electricity import and export tarrif
(import: Next Drive Fixed V7, export : Next Export Exclusive v2) both of these tarrifs end in april so im looking for what is best to switch to in april
My original plan was to switch to octopus intelligent flux as this was working out the best rate in april but with the war in the middle east, octopus and seemingly every other provider has pulled their smart tarrifs.
It also looks like E.on has new export tarrifs that pay 13p per Kwh as long as you are not on an time of use tarrif otherwise its 6p per kwh.
It looks like the energy club recommendations is trying to push me towards an economy 7 tarrif but im not sure how i know if my meter is capable of it (its a smets1 smart meter)0 -

The last time I was looking at EON export tariffs, the small print said that Economy 7 is not a "time of use tariff" for the purposes of that clause.

If the Cheap Energy Club (CEC) is suggesting E7 tariffs to you, it's most likely because the national meter database thinks you have an Economy 7 meter. CEC will default to providing tariffs that match your meter type and you need to get creative if you want it to offer anything else.
SMETS1 meters are generally compatible with Economy 7 tariffs.
If you can share a photo of your meter and the associated electrical wiring, we migh be able to give more specific suggestions.

Intelligent Octopus Go is still available with a 6 month fix (£25 exit fee).
IOF will probably return soon as well, but as a rule, it only makes sense for those with an EV if their solar generation exceeds their total use including the EV, and their battery is big enough to cover the time period when there is no solar generation.
So unless your EV mileage is low, or your Solar generation is very high, IOF may not be the best choice due to the relatively high import rates.

i dont have an EV so i cant get octopus go (eon next drive v7 was for ev and solar and battery customers but the new next drive was EV owners only)
During the summer months i do have pretty high generation and the maths was saing inteligent flux would have been the best option.
The eon next fix v7 has already been pulled as well so ive applied for the next fix v8 now, hopefully intelligent flux or some other smart tarriffs will be back on the market soon but i suspect we are in for another covid situation where there is zero competition in the market for at least a year.
I hope im wrong but im not optimistic0 -
Thanks for the extra info, and yes, without the EV Flux probably does make sense if you are a net exporter.
