Dry here and meant to be sunny later, yesterday turned into a lovely day with sunshine all day, it got quite warm at times hopefully today will be the same.
I am off to see O today and have promised him a trip out somewhere, we might have a walk along the prom and get him an ice cream. Yesterday a new potential carer that I found after putting an advert on the local fb carers page came for an interview she was a lovely lady and is doing a trial day next Wednesday with me, and there is also another lady having a trial, if they are both ok it will now mean his mum has help 6 days a week, she was so grateful for the help in finding more people as she has been coping alone for a long time.
Dinner tonight will be something quick with chips, I am taking my car in straight after work for it’s MOT, fingers crossed it goes straight through 🤞
As always I am looking forward to no alarm waking me up tomorrow, I am meeting a friend for a coffee and a walk later in the day, but I have nothing on in the morning.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Ruby, enjoy your walk and well done getting extra help for O, I'm sure his mum appreciates your help.
Raining this morning and quite windy, feels pretty cold too. I'll do some washing later once the hairdresser has been and hang it on the pulley.
It's World Book Day today but instead of dressing up in costumes school have decided to have a PJ day, my colleague and I have our Winnie onesies ready! I'm not going into work dressed it in as sod's law something would happen on the way!
Car back from it's overnight stay, it seems fume free thank goodness. It's been washed again, that's twice in the last week, more than it usually gets in a year!
taff has been posting on the gardening thread but still missing you and Nanny, hope you're ok.
Hugs to anyone in need, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks RUBY for starting off. It's currently foggy/misty here but the sun is forecast to break through. And remaining mild. Yesterday, like most others, we had wall to wall sunshine all day which is so uplifting.
We had a change of plan yesterday as our promised bus ride to Skipton had to be changed. There had been a bad accident on the roundabout on route which blocked both sides of the road, causing chaos, so all buses were cancelled. So we got the bus to Ilkley instead. It's always nice for a wander round there and, of course, a nice lunch.
Grounded today but there are always jobs to keep me occupied. First I need to do a freezer dive to decide what to get out for dinner. I am thinking perhaps fish.
YL yes it is St Gemma's (aka the 99p shop) that's on the move to bigger premises. Sadly we don't get to Otley much these days since our direct bus route from town was cancelled. It now involves a couple of changes which is a pain as it can involve too much hanging around waiting for a connecting bus.
RUBY well done on finding potential carers for O. If they turn out to be as caring and considerate as you he and his mum will be lucky people. The poor lady must have found life so hard caring for him on her own.
Well I must stop wittering on and get myself moving so wishing you all a lovely day with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want of them. Take care all, stay safe x

Hi everyone
I think I missed posting yesterday - as most people, it was lovely and sunny. Had coffee with an ex-colleague, nice dog walk and saw a hare and curlews, and some gardening.
Back to exams invigilation today for a few hours followed by some more garden tidying I think, need to take advantage of the nicer weather.
Hope all the poorlies and absentees feel better soon, have a good day

Morning all, thanks for the start @RedRuby1231 - another well done from me too.
The long train journey yesterday was almost wonderful. I was very comfortable, was served a tasty breakfast with coffee and was only 90 minutes from Birmingham when we stopped. There was someone threatening suicide near to the Wigan junction who had to be given assistance. After a wait it was announced that the train was going to move again but would be only going to Stafford and then straight through to London. So, off the train and onto another 40 minutes later. I arrived over an hour later, the upside is that I will get the single fare fully refunded.
My nephew met me off the train so I had his company on the short trip to Bromsgrove. We all had a good time in the evening though I was so worn out. The hotel is practically across the road from their house so it was an easy trip there where I conked out! No idea what's on the plan for today though in the evening we're going to see Matt Parker which I'm really looking forward to.
It's fab weather here, unlike at home. I'm so pleased to see and feel sunshine at last. ☀️☀️☀️I hope that everyone has a great day. Hugs to all.14 -

It’s dull here but it’s supposed to stay dry I have some washing to hang out then off out to lunch with hubby he’s decided he’s having mince and dumplings. Gers enjoy yourself have a good night you will be worn out when you get home . Camelot it’s a good idea pyjama day but I wouldn’t travel in them either I’m like you something would happen to me where I would end up running around in them in the middle of somewhere although I saw two young girls getting on the bus in them last week yawning there heads off . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning all from Mehefinland
@camelot1001 I got 'joe'd' to do storytelling for World Book Day too at my local primary. This was at 10pm Tuesday evening!! Dug out my old bowler hat from the carriage driving days and am going as Mr Benn although I doubt if any of the children will know him.
Nice sunny day yesterday meant I actually gave the grass its first cut on the highest mower setting - looking at it this morning I think I could have gone down a notch.
Did think about taking Showmans' rug off and letting him go naked -but then the thought of cleaning off all the inevitable mud before he has his flu jab tomorrow swayed me lol.
Need to get a wiggle on , so hugs and spoons as always,
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all, we still have a lovely day, although a much colder start.Still it's meant to get up to 16 deg later.A memory popped up yesterday on FB from years ago but it was 4th March, LyDog rolling in the snow.
@ScarletRibbons ,sadly no the lemon sole goujons weren't home made- got them from Oc**o,brand called Russells.
In good news the garage has sent a bill for the car so hoping to collect it today, then it needs some new tyres.DH has been comparing prices.
@RedRuby1231 , pleased for O's mum, hope it works out & well done for helping to look for carers.
@YorksLass , you are not alone in having a son return.DS1 has been with us due to break ups 3 times over the years, last time last year. Not nice to see them heartbroken :( Good job he's no trouble and is very useful in the techie dept.
Will have to dig in the freezer for tea, I do have a pork fillet but want to save that for Sunday.
@Gers sounds like a long journey, enjoy the show.
Take care all.

Morning everyone,
I haven't switched my laptop on since Sunday, so I hope everyone is ok.
I've had an awful week - mam collapsed in the bathroom on Monday morning, ambulance called and she was taken down the road to the nearest big hospital, my brother followed in his car. I stayed with my dad and contacted his care manager, the upshot was I stayed with him on Monday night and then took him to a nearby care home on Tuesday where, for now, he's there for respite care. It was absolutely awful leaving him a few hours later, he was crying and shouting that he wanted to go home. I was down yesterday afternoon, with little one who he was delighted to see, and he didn't get upset when we left. She did, though she managed to hold it in till we got out the front door, she said Granny you can't leave him there all alone!
My mam isn't hurt physically, though my brother says mentally she's gone downhill, and just kept asking him the same things over and over again. He drove the hour and 20 minutes down to the big hospital yesterday to find two ambulanceman taking my mam away, she was being transferred to our home town, he was so annoyed that no one rang him and told him not to go. The local one rang him early evening to say she was there and comfortable, and was having a cup of tea and a sandwich.
So that's my week so far and I hope I never have one the same again! My brothers picking me up at 10 and we'll go to visit her, then I'll go to see dad this afternoon. It's all been such a shock, they were at home quite happy on Sunday and now neither of them will be there again…the doctors have said mam will have to go to a care home too.
I'd best go and get ready, hope everyone has a good day x
