Universal credit AP dates changed in Feb?
Good Morning all,
I was wondering if anyone happens to know.the reason why the dates of our last Assessment Period are
29 January to 26 February 2026
As our Assessment Period has always been 29th - 28th of every month, the same last February the AP changed to 29th Jan - 26th Feb as I just checked.
I know Feb is a short month but theres still 28 days in Feb?Anyone happen to know?
Just always do a money savings and investments declaration on the last day if ny Assessment period every month, which is the 28th and I did so again but then realised afterwards that my AP had ended 2 days earlier.
Thanks all

On the statement for 2025 what are the dates of the end of March one?

The dates are arranged that way, so that overall for the 12 monthly assessment periods, they add up to a full year.
The dates around February assessment periods are always a little odd, apart from those people who started claims on the 1st of a month, who would have a perfectly aligned period of 1st to 28th February.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2 -
The rules are that if your AP normally starts on the 29th or 30th of the month, then in Feb it starts on the 27th (or 28th in a leap year).
That then means the previous AP ends on the 26th.
