Birmingham city council PCN

Hi guys,

hope you are all well. Need some advice on the following.

So my friend received a pcn on her windshield recently due to her car being parked outside her house on the foot path which she has been doing for the last 10 years. The pavement is around 7 meters wide and the car is always parked as seen in the photo below (blue car)

there is a small sign on the black lamppost which states prohibited parked mon-fri 7.45am to 6.30pm.

I find this unreasonable to warrant a pcn as there is no obstruction to the wider public whatsoever.

Once my friend received the pcn she logged onto the online portal to view evidence which state the correct time and place of the alleged contravention. I challenged the pcn through their appeal service and was replied with a rejection email but noticed their response stated a different road name and area to where the pcn on her windshield stated.

Can she use this in her favour at all?

is it worth trying to appeal against the city council with these types of PCNs?

thanks in advance and if you require further info please let me know

As this is a council matter, I suggest that you post your query over on the FTLA parking forum website after reading their posting requirements first

Nothing to do with Birmingham Council, but was advised to post this here….

I appealed against a parking PCN to Hounslow Council 6 weeks ago. While I got an auto-acknowledgement of my email, they never responded to my appeal. I have now been sent a demand for the full payment amount (£110) in the post. Their contact telephone number is only for automated responses and, since they did not respond to my original email, I doubt that they will respond to the one I have just sent them (to complain about the situation).

Any ideas for what I should do?

I advised you to go to the FTLA website after reading their posts in this thread, because Le_Kirk posted the link
