Good morning all.
Thanks for the good wishes for the MOT, car sailed through no problems and no advisories. The service was fine too. It all took nearly three hours. The early drive down was really enjoyable, so a good day.
As I got ready for bed last night I realised that I'd brought two pyjama tops and no bottoms so I now wearing a pair belonging to Alan which I'll take with me on my travels. 😂
Taxi is booked to take me to the station and my train to Birmingham leaves at 9.30am. It gets in about 2.20pm so I've loaded up an audiobook and a film.
I hope that all are well and safe. Hugs all round.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, enjoy your trip. Glad the car got a clean bill of health.
My car has had an overnight stay in the garage while they wait for a part - they broke a clamp that holds the turbo to the exhaust but didn't bother fixing it last week, probably thought I wouldn't notice! I'll get the bus today and hopefully pick it up later. Rosy, is it you that is still without a car?
Glad you enjoyed the concert Ruby, I think I would have cried all the way through it.
What a palaver YL, hope you managed to have a little rest after your stressful day.
Hope the car shopping went well Coxy, not my favourite pastime but the GC sounds good! Hope your Dad remains safe.
Had to laugh at your antics with the mattress Izzy!
Hope your DH is recovering well WL.
Yesterday's weather was glorious after a cold and frost start, the washing was all dry and put away when I got home. I think we will be back to rain again today sadly.
I heard from the heating chap yesterday - he will be coming on Saturday to try and fix the problem boiler, I had a bit of a fight with it yesterday when I went for a shower, had to reset it a few times before it decided to work. It came on first time this morning thank goodness.
Anyway, enough chat. Hope you are all well and have a good day. Take care. XX
PS Are you ok Nanny?

Morning Gers and all to follow
Gers safe travels, where are you off to ? XxI’ve had a really bad night was still awake at 4 this morning, today will be a long day 😳
I am off to see O today he has his boxing lesson this morning and then a visit from another potential PA later on, I’m not sure what time she is coming but we will try and get out for a walk if we can fit it in.
Dinner tonight will be GF quiche, I got some GF pastry with the shopping so will make the quiche after work, we have some new potatoes and salad to have with it.
I will put a wash on before I go to work and will hang it out once I get back.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all
Glad to hear your car passed it's MOT @Gers
DH is going to start painting the living room today so lots of moving things around. I won't be required until we put everything back later!
Still sulking about our missed holiday. We would have been going up the Burj Khalifa today. I've emailed them twice now to see if we can get a refund on our tickets considering the situation out there. No reply as yet, and not confident I'll receive one either!
Have a good day all x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Enjoy your trip. Are you meeting up with your DN?
The sun is threatening to rise any time, I see brightness above the moors. Yesterday was glorious and it actually felt quite warm in the sunshine. It brought quite a few people out and there were actually people sitting in the square enjoying it. We expected our lunch venue to be busy but surprisingly it wasn't so we could sit and chat in peace. Lots of catching up done with DF.
Gadding out again today. It's bus trip day. Doubtless it will be Skipton! Our favourite hostellerie is open again after the renovations and we have heard good things about all the work that's been done. We are just hoping their prices haven't shot up to pay for it!!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. We seem to have lost SNOOZER, TAFF and NAN. I hope they are ok and just having a break. YL after all the to-ing and fro-ing yesterday I hope today is a bit more peaceful! Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers glad the car passed it’s MOT and safe onward journey x
That’s not good @camelot1001 lets hope both the garage and the heating company can fix the issues x
We saw some cars yesterday. Have requested a test drive for a new to us brand tomorrow. It’s more car for the money than our preferred brand which is a sensible choice given we are on low incomes and have a lot of work to do on the house. Just need to make sure and ask more questions.
I’m working today - not sure for how long, hoping I’ll see some of the sunshine later. Dinner is chicken and chorizo pasta courtesy of DH.
Glad you retrieved DS’s belongings yesterday @YorksLass xHope DH is doing okay @WickedLady4 x
Shout out to @nannywindow @-taff @snoozer and @silver-oldie hope you’re all doing okay?
Have a good day all

Morning all. dull and a bit misty here at the moment.
We had a busy day yesterday, sorting out the back garden, cutting the grass and then we decided to go and buy some more topsoil so it all looks much better this morning.
DH is doing amazingly well after having 2 teeth out. I'd stocked up on soft food and, in fact, we're having a Charlie B veg lasagne today as I needed a meal in a hurry, but he's eating fairly normally now. Still drinking through a straw though, just in case!
Off to the Larder soon so will wish you all a pleasant day. Hope the sun shines later; it makes such a difference.

Morning from sunny but chilly Mehefinland.
Yesterday was spent trolling back and for to the field whilst the lovely contractor planted the new hedge complete with sticks and rabbit guards. 260 in all!! But in true MSE fashion it has not cost me a bean, except for the plants I bought this time last year and had to pot up as the ground had gone rock hard. He kindly put them in too-so much easier with the right equipment. Next door's alpacas were very intrigued with what was going on- hopefully they wont be able to reach over the fence to the new plantings. My lot were totally disinterested, I bet they are waiting their opportunity to have a good nosey though!
Been asked to read stories to the primary school classes for World Book Day on Thursday so will pop in today and see what they actually want. One of the library volunteers is going to help too.
Otherwise it's same old… just need the grass to dry off before attempting a first cut of the year.It doesn't seem five minutes since the last on of the autumn. I must be getting old lol
Hugs and spoons as always, safe journeys and better health.
Mehefin aka Derek

Hi everyone,
You haven't quite lost me TA, I've been reading along but have been ill for nearly a month and haven't had the energy or enthusiasm to post. In fact I've got a dr appointment this morning because I think the chest infection I had ABs for a couple of weeks ago has been bubbling away since I finished them.
It would happen when we were incredibly busy, starting with Steve's 70th at Center Parcs and then being needed in Bristol and also to look after Nate, I've been rather dragging myself around.
Happy birthday to those I've missed (it's Crystal's 40th today but Chris is away with work so I think they will be celebrating at the weekend). Speaking of those two they found at that the new baby is a girl so we will have 2 boy and 2 girl grandchildren, how lucky is that.
I'll try to post a bit more often now, but I don't want to bore anyone.
Have a good day.

Thanks Gers ,enjoy your trip.
Yes @camelot1001 , it is us still without our car. 6 weeks now.DH rang yesterday and they are hopeful it will be finished soon , luckily we still have the shared camper van to run round in.
Lovely morning again, & a nice long dog walk.DH went out this morning to give someone advice about a house he worked on back in the 90s.Sadly the owners died and it has been left to their children, one of whom wishes to buy the others out. He said the work he did back then all looks in good shape :)
@snoozer , sorry you've been ill so long, that sounds similar to us after Xmas. These winter bugs have really hit hard this time.
@mehefin alpacas in te next field sounds interesting.Ah World book day takes me back a few years to when I worked at school, good memories of the children dressing up.
I'm having chilli tonight, men having breaded lemon sole fingers.
I hope friends and relatives in dangerous areas are safe, take care.
