Hey there,

So I have received two PCN's for visiting my local gym. When attending the gym it is required to input the vehicle registration into a tablet. I attend the gym on a regular basis so I am adamant this was done as part of my routine for each day the charge was for. But I have no physical proof this was done as it's not something I feel I should take evidence of.

Following the advice in the newbies thread, I have emailed the gym itself as well as Pure Gym's company complaint email. I've included a screenshot of my attendance at the gym of these days in the email too.

For reference the NTK's were issued on the 20th and 21st February 2026. The contravention stated is listed as, 'No valid pay and display/permit was purchased'.

Hopefully the Gym are able to cancel these but if they don't I will have to appeal with the parking firm.

When appealing I will include the screenshot of my attendance at the gym and will not be admitting who the driver was. Assuming this will likely go down the POPLA route?

I have been to court previously for parking charges using the advice from this forum so I am semi-clued up on the matter. But I was wondering if there is any other tips or advice to help support this.

Whilst ECP do issue Money Claims , via DCB LEGAL, they don't progress to court

There is literally zero point trying POPLA.

I'd push the gym complaint & otherwise ignore ECP. Tell them if you move house at any point.

Deal with a Claim Form if & when it arrives because that's the end game where you see it cancelled. You'll pay nothing.

I’ve had a response back from the gym today!

‘I will be able to amend the parking tickets for you , not a problem.’

So hoping this should clear it all! But I know how scummy the parking firms can be. So just double checking… I ignore ECP and only deal with a claim form if that arrives? And not to appeal them with proof of my attendance and confirmation from the gym that it’s being dealt with?

Don't appeal. In future take a photo of the completed VRM screen on every visit.
