Microsoft Money file name

I have been using Money for years now but just a couple months ago the file name name changed from a simple .mny file to my computer's name then a bunch of numbers and letters then .mny. What did I do or the app do to do this? It seems to have all the correct numbers.

I still have the original My Money.mny file and I am unsure of how to fix it and clean it up.

I would like to get back to the original file name.

I back up in two different places so I have plenty of backup sources.

I am using money plus deluxe sunset version.

Do you use Onedrive, and if so do you synchronise to more than one device?

If so, it could be because Onedrive is unable to synchronise due to a conflict. One way this can happen is if you boot up your computer and immediately open the local file before Onedrive has finished synchronising. It will then find that updates made elsewhere could conflict with local updates, and it will save a new local copy with your computer name and date as a backup while you resolve the conflict.

Of course, it could be something else entirely.
