Washing machine in warranty but needs out of warranty part?
I purchased a Candy washing machine from AO in October, and it is still within the warranty period less than 6 months. Recently, the pump failed and a seal broke, causing the machine to leak. An engineer attended and repaired the pump; however, the seal required replacement and was out of stock at the time.
It has now been two weeks without a working washing machine. I contacted Candy again via AO to express my dissatisfaction, and I have since been informed that the seal is considered an out-of-warranty part. This was not explained to me by the engineer during the visit, nor was I advised that I would be expected to wait an extended period for the part to become available.
Could you please clarify whether I am required to wait and pay for this part myself, or whether I am entitled to return the appliance given that it is still under warranty and currently unusable?
Kind regards,

As I understand the rule for 'under 6 months' they have one opportunity to repair and then the appliance can be rejected. I would say they have tried and failed to repair, so now you can reject. Others may have a different opinion.

Given its under 6 months old you would have been better to deal with AO under your statutory rights rather than Candy under your warranty.
Under statutory rights it's assumed a defective part unless AO can show either you've caused the damage or less than 6 months is a reasonable lifespan.
I'd go back to AO and state you want them to deal with the seal under the Consumer Rights Act.

Which seal is it? Something like a door seal might not be covered because an item of laundry could have damaged it.
e.g. the wire from an underwired bra dislodging.

AO automatically divert you to the manufacturer via their website.
OP tell AO you want to reject for a full refund, they might suddenly agree to replace the seal.
Did you buy on credit?

If they have any given OP said out of stock 🤷♀️

Warranty is with the manufacturer and what it covers is as stated in the warranty document.
Your consumer rights are with AO.0
