car insurance renewals
So I have two cars which come up for renewal in the month of March.
The first car a 2024 Nissan xtrail the renewal went down 8%, also checked online and compared before I renewed, this is our main car which is used everyday
The second car is a 2010 Mercedes, the renewal went up from £344 to £470, nothing has changed, no claims etc, this car goes out once per month, average miles per year is between 2000 and 3000 miles per year, as I said very much a second car..
Checked online and have found the same coverage as my existing policy for £308
I just cant get my head around the difference in price

a reduction in new vehicles is what is happening for many people so far this year.
The second vehicle increase is likely due to age. It would almost certainly be a write off, even with minor damage as parts and labour would be more expensive on a vehicle that old. It won't be as safe as modern vehicles either.
