Travel insurance/Iran crisis
Hello
Booked travel insurance a few months ago when I booked Emirates holiday to Dubai then onto Maldives. Due to fly out on Monday but I can see our holiday being cancelled because of the Iran crisis. What happens re my travel insurance as I now won't be usuing it although I suppose, obviously, I've been insured since I took it out. £500 odd down the drain? Anyone have any ideas please?

So you think you should be getting your insurance premium back because you haven't made a claim?
That's not really how insurance coverage works…..

"as I now won't be usuing [sic] it although I suppose, obviously, I've been insured since I took it out.
So yes, you have used it then.

That's why I said obviously I've been insured since I took it out. I've probably answered my own question really!

If I have understood corrrectly, you may have bigger things to worry about than your insurance. Hopefully, the company you booked the holiday with will refund you or offer alternative arrangements. If not, you need to read your insurance policy to see if it covers war, as most don't.
You have been insured on the policy since inception, not from the date the holiday was due to start. If you had needed to cancel for any insured reason, you would have realised the value of your insurance policy then.
