Not all cars have a 12V socket any longer, so I ditched the compressor pump and bought one of these:
Very reliable.
Easy to use.
Power never fails.

Doesn't really matter what most cars have. Depends what the car you have.. has
Cant fault the logic on the foot pump but if you have large tyres then be prepared for a workout on that little thing.
I personally use a unit from Amazon which has both 230 and 12v modes. Able to preset pressure and overall works well
