Warranty issues plus Paypal credit payment
Hi all. In May 2025 I bought my son an RC Henlong tank from China.
Paid it with Paypal credit - in three instalments.
The tank developed technical faults in December 2025, and the seller was contacted but i received no support.
I complained to paypal over sales of goods and consumer credit act but my claim was dismissed? They even never notified me, that the claim was received or it was closed by them.
The message i received was this transaction is not covered under buyer protection.
Surely, both laws apply here, if trading in the UK?

I'm afraid you have no means of enforcing the Consumer Rights Act if the business you bought from is based in China.
I thought that PayPal credit carried Section 75 protection, though.
You’ll have to check if buyer protection covers overseas transactions.
In general, if you buy from an overseas seller, your rights are those in place in that territory, which makes them difficult or practically impossible to enforce.
