Sort by the date and plot the price figures -

    And chill

Just curious if anyone has made any adjustments to their portfolio and/or fund choices following the ongoing events in the Middle East? I know most like to take the stiff upper lip approach (what crisis?) but there is clearly uncertainty and fragility in several areas at the moment.

As I am drawing closer to retirement, all I have done is adjusted a bit more of my subsequent contributions to cash. I am pretty happy with my fund choices and for context they have dropped around 5% since the start of the conflict.

It could certainly get a lot worse before it gets better and most people are probably more concerned about the immediate hit at the pumps (where I live we have seen £1.38.9 go to £1.60.9 in two weeks, that's £11 on a 50L fill up), energy and food prices.

I put £200 in 3OIL for the lolz. Not regretting it yet!

    Other than that, no.

After the big rise in equity values recently, I rebalanced about a month ago. Effectively it meant reducing equity % by about 4%, so that may help a bit.

Otherwise ' Stiff Upper Lip' as usual 😉

I have been pleasantly surprised by the fact that I haven't even looked at the value. I used to check far too often but now that I am retired, and no longer spending all day online, I am just letting it run. I guess I will get more units for my money when I make the next ISA contribution in April

Situation in the Persian Gulf has been going on for nearly three weeks. Chances are it will continue to deteriorate for at least another three weeks but very possibly another year or more. No need to rush into any buying opportunities just yet.

I'm still invested as I was, however I have a large cash reserve enough for at least 10 years, maybe 15 to 20 at a push.

It's just my opinion and not advice.

Will probably use dividends to build up a bit more STMMF, otherwise no change

I used a hedging product in January that was a leveraged sell of the S&p, that so far has paid off very well. If I had done nothing then my paper money value would be significantly lower today. So far it has led to a net gain across all my portfolios. The difficulty for me is to know when to revert to the norm by closing that hedge and to expell emotion from this decision, as apart from some minor ins and outs to lock profit, it's mostly still paper money. I know that on average, trying to time the market will lead to worse results. But to me the opportunity was too obvious. Time will tell.
