Morning all and thanks @Gers for today's start. Last night felt rather chilly but at least there wasn't any frost; today we're due a day of sunshine and showers so I'll try to pick one of the former for when I go for my TV guide and a couple of other bits and pieces. And yes @TA - I will be going the long way round! 😁
Today I need to finalise the list of things I need from the DIY store tomorrow, one of which is shower curtain rings. Unfortunately the existing ones came to a sticky end when DS had a tumble in the over-bath shower; luckily he wasn't hurt. I did warn him the bath was slippery and to use the rubber bathmat (and the over-bath board if need be) but my advice obviously fell on deaf ears. 😥 I'm almost certain I need to add a tin of undercoat to the DIY list too but will have a rummage in the under-stairs cupboard to double check. I fancy making a batch of cereal bars this afternoon, must bake a loaf and have planned a fakeaway prawn curry with rice for tonight.
@Izzy - Hopefully your hubby will have a good round of golf, enjoy the peace and quiet while you can.
@camelot - Fingers crossed the car hire company find the lost car.
@WL - I hope you and DH have an enjoyable Morris Ale event tonight before the tooth extraction on Monday; not exactly something to look forward to, is it?
@Ruby - Absolute bargain buy with the terracotta pots, well done you.
@Chrisca - I have everything crossed that your much awaited holiday goes without a hitch, it sounds wonderful.
Time to make a move now before the rain arrives so I'll wish everyone a good end-of-the-month day. Take care, see you all in March. 😁 X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Afternoon - the landscape is beautiful, fields are frosted and the sky is clear. Of course, the price is the freezing temperature. Yesterday was glorious and the sunset blazing so perhaps today will turn out good too.
Yesterday I had emptied out the big bottom drawer upstairs. and left it all on the top and then ignored it. Last night it was glaring at me though I only moved enough to allow the TV remote to reach the box. 😂 This morning I couldn't ignore it all any more so set about sifting, sorting and moving the stuff into the other drawer. Now all the tubes can be seen and other items are also more orderly. Lots have gone in the bin or ready to take to the pharmacy for disposal.
In the late afternoon I had an appointment with the lovely GP. All my bladder problems came to the fore as it's also causing difficulties with what I will call adjacent areas. Now I'm armed with a array of more lotions, creams and ABs. On the up side, when I came home feeling rather dispirited I fully opened the small bottle of champagne and a wee packet of nuts. They both cheered me up somewhat.
I cooked the fillet of venison, not before phoning the chap up the hill to ask for proper instructions, which was beautiful. I used a meat thermometer to get it right. There's enough for another couple of meals though I need to make some more gravy.
Today is for taking away the unwanted meds and hand in some things to the CS. I offered lots of stationery on FB which got snapped up by a worker in a local primary - thanks for the advice - so it's piled up to take on Monday. I'll sort out the new monthly spreadsheet ready for tomorrow / Monday. Happy days.
The musical evening sounds fab @mehefin, such a lot of talent around.
I began this much earlier and then thought it was lost, it was merely waiting!

Hi
A late one from me. Today is DHs birthday so we've been doing…….not much at all.
DH had smoked salmon bagels for brunch, and is having steak and salad for tea . Yes, I spoil him, but his all I've got, even though he's grumpy lol.
Have a good evening all, take care.
