It’s a cold morning but I think it has to stay dry I’m just waiting for the washer to finish and I will get them hung out hopefully dry but at least dryer than when I hang them out. Not sure what today will bring I might bake hubby is off to play golf soon so at least I’ve got a morning of peace . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning folks and thanks GERS. No frost here fortunately but it looks a bit gloomy. The usual drizzle forecast again, although yesterday we escaped it and had some bright spells.
The usual Saturday Sainsbob's shop with DS today. Not until lunchtime as he is working this morning. He is away next weekend for a few days on a Stag do. (At their age I think it will be a civilised one!) So I have doubled up on a few items for Justin!
The Friday Tidy went a bit awry yesterday with the blood test appt interrupting the day so I still have to give the bedrooms a once over this morning as I cba when I got back. I picked up the few bits I needed in town before heading for the bus. I couldn't believe how busy Savers was, I think it must be picking up the slack after the demise of Bodycare. It's a pity they couldn't move into their now empty premises as their current store is a bit cramped.
YL I'm with you as regards hills. When we bought this house we thought it would be ideal for dog walking, being so close to the moors and open spaces, never giving a thought to it being difficult for elderly person walking when the time came! No matter which way I go from my house I am faced with a hill.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. DP1 how lovely for your DD, I can just imagine LO fussing over the baby like a little mother! Will it be a long term foster? x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, not frosty here just cold and damp. Yesterday's washing was dry when I got home but there won't be any going out today.
Hope your DD is getting on well with the baby dp1, I bet the little one will love having him.
I did some housework when I got home yesterday so it's all nice and clean, will go shopping in a bit for some much needed fresh veg and fruit.
A friend and I are going to the seaside today for fish and chips and a mooch about the charity shops, haven't seen her for ages so there'll be a lot to catch up on, quite looking forward to it.
I had a phone call yesterday from the car hire company asking to come and pick up the car so I told them it's where I left it yesterday at the dealership where they told me to leave it, I even phoned them as I was leaving there to tell them. Anyway, they seem to have lost it!
Hope the little dog is better Izzy.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Many thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday, there was cake but we didn’t go out, the weather was appalling!Marginally drier today so there will likely be a resumption of patio cleaning. Have a new jigsaw on the go too so that will probably distract me too. There’s always plenty of other chores and things to get on with too.
Best wishes to everyone for a good weekend

Good morning all from a sunny but chilly Mehefinland
Substantial rain yesterday evening and overnight but thankfully no frost Field a bit soggy to say the least!
The harpists(s) yesterday were absolutely brilliant. The principal one gave really interesting introductions about the history of what she was going to play - and at 82 the nimbleness of her fingers was awesome. There was also a pair of harpists showing the full range of what the instruments can do- it was quite inspiring. And to cap it all they pulled a young boy from the audience ( a pupil of one of the duo and the grandson of Elinor Bennet) and played a quartet!!! A lovely afternoon's entertainment.
The Twmpath in the evening was ok-ish..More of a Noson Lawen to my mind as they had us all singing Welsh folk songs etc. The band was good, but I wasn't overfussed on the caller tbh. Bit too shouty , and I got the impression she hadn't been doing it long. The demonstration of clog dancing was amazing though, 3 ladies doing the dances with 2 gents playing a melodeon and a hurdy-gurdy( I had never seen one in the flesh before so that was very interesting).
Right, sun's out, washing's on -time to get a move on.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers No frost here and due to be mainly dry, so a day of garden tidying awaits.
No rugby this weekend so I’ll have to find something else to do the ironing to! Will be food shopping with Mum tomorrow.
I went to the village coffee morning yesterday and sat with a couple from a neighbouring village. We had a nice chat and I have been invited to attend the singing classes on a Thursday. Will think about it.Hope little dog is feeling better now @IzzyBee you will need a nap later. Enjoy the quiet house 😉
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. It's raining again here.
We've had a busy week, mainly to do with DH. He is now booked to have the offending tooth removed on Monday morning and will have to stop his anti coagulants for a day. Neither of us are looking forward to it; he has a bit of a history of fainting so I'll collect him by car and hope he makes it out of the dentist in one piece. I'm thinking of soft, easy to eat foods for a few days next week. Luckily we have a quiet week and he can just rest at home.
After that, he's been given a date to have his cataract done towards the end of March. This is after being told last week that it will be at least 4 months. Never mind; he's happy to get it done and will cancel the event he was going to that evening. We'll have to look at the timings as I'm hoping to still go to the event but will see what time he needs collecting. We might have to see if DD can collect him if it's going to be a problem.
Today we're going to pop into town for a few bits and then we're off to another Morris Ale tonight, so there will be plenty of food and drink there. Tomorrow I'll cook the duck that's sitting in the fridge and maybe make some small fairy cakes, as they will be soft to eat.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. @mehefin I was playing on the stage with a hurdy gurdy player and a melodeon player last Saturday! It can be quite hard to hear when the tune starts on a gurdy because of the drones.

Morning everyone
I've had a lovely lie in this morning, just having my breakfast .
The washing machine is busy, I will hang it out when it's ready and cross my fingers, it's meant to stay dry until just before I'll get home later, so hopefully the rain will hold off.
I'm going to a talk on Lowry at lunchtime, which I'm looking forward to, I got a free ticket for helping to invigilate the exhibition. There's drinks and nibbles before it, but I might miss those as I've got a Tesco shop being delivered 11 till 12, so I'll have that to put away. I could leave some till later, but then it's still there to do when I get back!
Every thing is going well with foster baby, little one is having the weekend at home 'so he gets to know me granny.' No one has any idea how long they'll have him, it could be weeks or months. I'll be with her all day on Monday as I'm going on the school trip to Edinburgh Zoo with her, hopefully her blood sugars will behave.
Mehefin/ Wicked lady - what is a hurdy gurdy…a type of bagpipe?
I'm another one who moved to a house on a hill and now struggles to get up it since I've had Long Covid, most walks round here involve a hill at some point. Not looking forward to the ones at the zoo, they're awful.
Right best get on, I hope everyone has a good day x

Dry here for now but a bit of rain due mid morning then sunny this afternoon, I have got the bedding in the wm so will try to hang it out for a while this afternoon.
The hedge man came yesterday and did a brilliant job, there is so much more light in the garden and conservatory it’s amazing, he filled his van with the off cuts and there is a huge bag in the garden that he didn’t have room for he will come back Monday to collect it.
The lock on the conservatory door broke last night and we are unable to lock it 😳 we tied a strap round it for security and we have an inner door which was locked, I hope we can get a replacement lock on Monday.
Dinner tonight will be chilly and rice, I will make it this morning so it’s ready to heat through later and just cook some rice. I will get a chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow. The Mexican last night was delicious really tasty we will order again for sure.
I need to go and get some compost today dd and I went to home sense yesterday to get a bigger pot for a houseplant, we saw a huge pot terracotta pot for £6.99 which must have been priced wrong so we bought three 😃 they will look lovely planted up in the summer.
I hope snoozer is ok she has not posted for a while xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all
Hope they find your car Camelot!
Just starting to get holiday bits together and see the news this morning and am wondering if we will even get to go! I've been saving up for a long time to go somewhere I've wanted to go to for many years. Our 45th wedding anniversary is this year so that was an excuse to go. We should be flying out on Monday and staying in Dubai for 3 days then off to the Maldives for 7 and then back for one overnight stay and then fly home. Fingers crossed we get there and back with no problems. I'll be SO disappointed if its scuppered.
Have a good day all x
