Morning all,
Happy Birthday Allie, have a good day.
Glad you got your car back Camelot- we've not,5 weeks now and they hadn't even started it when DH rang earlier in the week.
DP1, what a good thing your DD is doing.
Lunch with my friend yesterday was nice, but our first choice was full so we had to think again and went to a cafe fairly close. That looked busy too but they slid a table out for us.
We're hopefully off on a walk in a bit, bit drizzly but never mind, DH knee feels a bit better so we'll make the most of it.
Have a good day all.

Morning everyone
Just a quickie as I should have got up a bit earlier, I was chatting to eldest DD who is spending the weekend in Romania, just because she's never been there! She's staying in a lovely little apartment.
Pleased to hear you enjoyed your birthday Gers and Happy Birthday to you today Allie x
Little foster baby is lovely, little one is besotted already. I picked her up from school and went to see him for a little while, then across to my friends for a cuppa and cake. She has an appointment with her consultant at Newcastle today, about going so low last week, so they're all away for a day out.
Right must get moving, I have my bedding to put on the line before I go down to mam and dads, then work.
I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all from drizzling Mehefinland
had a lovely visit from my friend with her GSD last night - it is all part of her familiarisation program as she (the dog) will be coming to stay here for a few nights in May whilst they pop across to Jersey to she family.. Gosh it gets complicated! Anyway after a few sniffs and whines she settled down on her blanket and slept most of the evening. The next step will be for Mum to go off and leave her with me for a short while to see how she copes with separation. I think it will be ok, but we will build the time up over the next few weeks and see how it goes.
Talk of b/day cards reminded me that on my 70th a neighbour turned up with a card- it looked a bit odd, but it was not until I looked closely didit become apparent - the cheeky beggar and sent a 'Get well soon' card - he is a bit of a wag though so to this day I'm not sure if it was deliberate or just him having a dizzy moment.
Today is a culture day. Harp recital this afternoon, and a Twmpath Dans in the evening. I'll be glad of a rest tomorrow!
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all
Happy birthday Allie x
Late today. Been chatting on the phone for ages with my friend/ex-workmate. She's had an awful week with her MiL having a heart attack and being moved up to St Thomas's in London to have heart surgery. Was very hit and miss that she would get through it but she has so that's good news.
Been food shopping for a few bits to keep us going before we fly off on Monday. Talking of ailments my hips have been giving me gyp so hope warmer climes might help them recover!
Have a good day all x

Afternoon all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. Definitely take warm clothing for your trip, it can be what us Yorkshire folk call 'a bit fresh' on that coast. 😁
Happy birthday @AA, enjoy your day whatever you decide to do or not do, as the case may be. 🎂
@Gers - So glad to hear your birthday turned out better than you expected it to be. Enjoy your venison tonight.
Yesterday's rain arrived sooner than forecast but it wasn't too bad and didn't last long. Today is supposed to be much the same - generally dry but with showers possible at any time. At least it's milder and my heating is only needed for a wee while first thing in the morning and maybe an hour in the evening. My energy provider has already reduced my monthly DD so it will be interesting to see if it gets adjusted again after April's bill.
The past-their-best bananas and a block of chopped up white chocolate have been transformed into a batch of muffins and I can vouch for how good they are. I've frozen most of them to keep temptation at bay! 😁 Then I attacked the limescale on the taps in the kitchen and bathroom with descaling spray and an old toothbrush, something I've been meaning to do for ages before it got really stubborn to shift; all now sparkly clean. Today will be spent doing the usual weekly admin and a quick dust/vac of the living room. Tonight's tea is basa fillets with a h/m butter sauce, baby potatoes, peas & sweetcorn.
@camelot - 👍️ to having your car back!
@Rosy - 👎️ to not getting yours back yet!
@TA - Good luck with the blood test appointment. Like you, I find walking uphill is becoming more of a challenge as I age and often take a longer and more circuitous route to avoid them! Trouble is, there are so many round my way. 🙄
Right, it's time I got a wriggle on so I'll wish everyone a good day, hugs for anyone struggling with illness or life in general. Take care. XX
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
