Good morning, I think it's fine here, I can't really tell. Yesterday wasn't bad, it was quite mild. Well, by our standards!
Happy birthday to anyone whose birthday it is - I know there's quite a few at this time of year.
Yesterday was an ok day, just the usual stuff. We're going away for a week on March 7th to a holiday cottage in N Yorks so I've started to think about packing. Ds will transport us there and back, and we're really looking forward to it. We'll take warm clothes though, as we'll be right on the coast.
I'm seeing a friend at some point today, and have a little list to fulfil and that's it.
Hope any poorly people will get better soon and that everyone has as good a day as they can. Take care folks.

Morning All
Dry this morning with the promise of some sunshine, the DGC's dressing gowns are in the WM so I'll get them out before I go to work.
Good news - I have my car back! No big orange spanner on the dashboard so all seems good. Can't believe how quickly I got used to the automatic rental car though, struggled a bit when I left the garage. I also forgot to take the little one's seat out of the other car so had to go back for it, they must think I'm a doddery old lady!
DD and family are travelling down south today to see DD's grandparents, Grandad is very ill so it could be a difficult trip for them. DS2 and DP are also going, I think they flew over last night.
Happy Birthday Allie, hope you have a great day.
Friday again, housework tonight before the weekend can begin.
Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. First of all wishing ALLIE a very Happy Birthday. Enjoy your day whatever your plans are. And no scrubbing of paths and patio!
I think we are back in the doldrums with the weather. The mizzly stuff is back and looks to be staying around for the forceable! Bah, I was just getting used to the sunny Springlike weather. But a small bonus is that it will remain mild.
A disjointed day ahead, I have the dreaded blood test appointment late morning so the Friday Tidy will be done before/after, when I cba. I'll have to get a taxi there as my ailing legs can't cope with the steep incline up from the main road out of town. But, weather dependent, I'll totter slowly back into town afterwards and pick a few bits up.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want. Take care all, be safe xx

Thanks for the birthday wishes. @TravellingAbuela , I promise no jet washing but only cos it’s raining! Did another hour yesterday and got rained off.Supposed to be out for coffee and cake but the lovely view over the river valley from the country park cafe will be fogged out so I may delay that. Other than that no plans other than not cooking, which is a bonus in itself!
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Happy Birthday @AlwaysAllie hope you have a great day which includes cake!
We enjoyed the theatre last night but another late night for us. DH is working today and I’m going to try the village coffee morning again. Last time I went it was a bit clique-y but I’ll persevere!
Might pop to the market town later or there’s housework to do if rain stops play.
Glad you got your car back @camelot1001 xGreat to hear about the foster placement @dp1 sounds like it will be a rewarding experience for all concerned x
Glad you’re electrics are sorted now @mehefin x

Morning all - huge thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday and a very happy birthday to @AlwaysAllie. Shame about the weather, I've sometimes thought about having an official birthday in May or June so that it's not dark and cold and wet!
@TravellingAbuela, your birthday must be hovering in the wings of the month - surely tomorrow as this isn't a leap year. Good luck with the docs,
@Suffolksue, the constant pain is so draining, I hope that the physio is helpful.
@Coxy11 Funny how late nights are not the same any more but glad that you enjoyed the theatre. Good news about your car
@camelot1001 but sorry to hear about DD's grandfather, I hope that all the family make it to him in time.
@IzzyBee - thinking about your DS.
Yesterday was fine, apart from the weather. A wee parcel arrived from my dearest friend, some flowers, a couple of cards too. I zoomed up to the big town to collect an order and did a small shop. My nephew tried to have a couple of cupcakes delivered from a nearby home baker's honesty box which he found on google maps. He then sent a text to a different establishment, by mistake, who are 200 miles away. 😀 I bought myself two eclairs instead as well as a wee bottle of proper fizz. Then, when I wanted to open the bottle, the cork just wouldn't budge at all so I had to resort to ordinary stuff. Later in the evening the chap up the hill came with a box of gifts, including a fillet of venison, so he's part opened it, I'll have that tonight.
Both my cousins emailed and texted, niece texted twice - one for an Aussie birthday and one for a Scottish one, one nephew texted and the other maintained radio silence! All good. All in all not the misery fest I expected and I have pulled up my socks for the year ahead.
This morning I spent some time emptying out the bottom drawer in my bedroom which is full of lotions, potions, remedies, sprays, plasters (five boxes) and other assorted stuff. It'll all get whittled down and the remainder put away in the other set of drawers. I even pulled out the drawers from the second one and waxed the runners. It's proper wood and I've had it since my 10th birthday, it came with a matching desk with a lift up lid which has long gone.
Waffling…hope that all are well, the rain holds off and that a good day is ahead. Hugs to all.

GERS still a bit of a wait - it's not until the 12th March! I'm so pleased that your birthday exceeded expectations and you enjoyed your day after all. x

Good morning
Happy birthday AlwaysAllie, have a lovely day without cooking. Hope you get spoilt.
Glad your birthday went better than expected Gers, it's always good when you get unexpected wishes. On my 70th last year I got a Happy birthday from my DS who doesn't have any contact with us. Mind you I haven't heard anything from him since.
Well, rain again here. I'm hoping to get to Asda if the roads not flooded, as they have given me a £5 off £35 voucher on the app and I want to get DH a bottle of his favourite tipple for his birthday.
Maybe salmon for tea tonight unless I get tempted by anything else.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all
Drizzly rain here but not too bad, the hedge man is coming today so I hope he can still work in the rain, the lock on the back door jammed shut last night so if he wants a drink etc I will have to go out the front door and round the back, I am looking forward to having more light in the conservatory.Happy Birthday to Allie have a great day xx
It’s my Birthday next week,I seem to remember that a few of us have Birthdays in Feb / March.
There is a New Mexican food van in the village once a month starting tonight, we are going to try it out they do GF choices as well, I hope it’s tasty.
I need to book a tip run with the bits from the utility so I might try that today or tomorrow depending on what time the hedge man finishes.
Wm is on and doing its thing, the washing will have to go on the airer.
DP1 congratulations to your dd on her first placement xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

morning everyone happy birthday AA have a lovely day whatever you are doing
TA I didn’t realise we were twins not that I think about birthdays to much now .its dry and not to cold I’m off out to do my volunteering soon . I took hubby out for lunch yesterday we went somewhere we had been before we won’t be going again they have really cut back on the quality of the ingredients and the portion sizes a tea a coffee a scone and a corned beef toastie 24 pounds it was the cheapest thinnest bread you could get and barely any filling I don’t mind paying but not for that never mind you live and learn . Shepherd’s pie it out ready just to heat up when I get in tonight. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
