Would I be able to build an extension on a shared driveway situation?

    Confusing to say the least.

In the OP's sat image there appears to be an extension/conservatory or something already there.

As I said before OP needs to ask the seller why the pp was approved but not built.

Maybe financial or what we are all talking about on the right of way issues.

It depends what shape the (legal) 'driveway' is past the rear walls of the houses. It is quite common for them to flare out to provide manoeuvring space to be able to get in/out of the garage.

The aerial image shows number 7's rear extension has the corner cut off. That might be a choice they made so it was easier to get into their garage, or it could reflect the line on another plan showing the extents of the shared driveway. And if so, whether that mirrors across to number 9's side is unknown.

The current occupiers didn't extend due to cost they said.

I can't think the plans are accurate. Looking at the measurements (and if the scale is accurate) it means the extension would've been 5m wide. That would have meant half of the front of the garage would've been within the boundary

Or was it they realised there could be issues going forward?

Is there an extension there now as in sat image?

It does look like the garage at no.9 is well over the shared access route .

As I have said earlier in this thread I think I would just forget it and look elsewhere.
