Universal Credit & Redundancy
My last day of employment is 28th February 2025. I will be paid payment in lieu of notice and a redundancy package on 23rd March. The income will be above the AET. Should I report the redundancy to UC on my last day of employment or after I get my redundancy package?
When will they start asking me to attend appointments and look for work, from 28th of Feb or after March? My AP is 2nd to 1st.
Also, is the claimant commitment for new style job seekers allowance the same as UC? As in, the appointments would be for both benefits?
Thanks

Report it when it hits your bank account.

I was made redundant 30 years ago. I had just got a mortgage and was really worried. However it worked out well in the end and I found a better job with better pay and I had some redundancy money as a bonus.
Very sad that you are being made redundant. Hope that it all works out for you find a better job that pays more. The company you currently work for that is making you redundant should be giving you paid time off to attend interviews.

The "Claimant Commitment" is very similar for both, but the appointments are handled together.
