Off to the Algarve on holiday on Saturday. Anyone have any tips on driving from Faro to Praia da Luz (near Lagos), best route, routes to avoid etc...

Just came back. Traffic is very light. The motorway is fine. Enjoy your stay.0

Go on the "new" Motorway all the way from Faro to Lagos, avoid the main road. Its an easy drive, just head in the Portimao direction.0

No! that's the old road. The motorway is the A22, parallel to the N125 but a few miles north. If its not on your map you may need to buy a more recent one.0

Who needs maps! The motorway is very well sign posted and is dual carriageway from the airport to the motorway. Just head in the Portimao direction but once on the motorway stay on till the end! You will join the motorway just after the Algarve Stadium which you will see on your right.0

A map will help you find a lot of interesting places. We bought "The AA Map and Guide to Algarve - Top 25 sights" for £6.99 from WHSmiths. It contains what it says - suggestions for visits and quite a reasonable map of the Algarve area,0

Hi.
If you have time when heading back drive past faro heading to the border and go to Tavira..beats most of the algarve hands down.
