Minimum Payment rates
Hi All,
just have a question relating to minimum payment rates. I need to pay for my Dad's funeral on a credit card. I am looking for a 0% one over a long period of course, but I also need one with low monthly repayments. A lot of the ones I have seen are 2.5% or £5. Do you know of any that have lower rates than this?
Thanks

Based on my current 0% cards, Natwest, Santander, Barclaycard and Tesco seem to have minimum repayments of around 1% and MBNA and HSBC are significantly higher at around 2.5 - 3%.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Sorry for your loss.
Is your Father's Estate solvent? If so, the Estate should pay for the funeral. Banks will usually release funds for this purpose even though the accounts were frozen at death and may require probate.

Even a long 0% period won't cover the funeral cost if you want to pay less than £5 a month.
But in any case your father's estate should be paying for the funeral if it's solvent.

Hi, thanks for your replies.
The situation is a bit complicated. All my parents' money was in accounts in my Mum's name. She died on 18 December with no will. Although her estate passed to my Dad, he then died on 15 January, also with no will. It was my understanding that until we have probate, we can't touch any of the estate.

The exception is the funeral costs, which the bank will release the money for when the undertaker invoices them - how did you pay for your mum's funeral? And did your father really have no money in his name? Everything being in your mum's name ay complicate this

How much money is in the bank account?
Unless it is £50k or more most high street banks do not require probate for simple estates.
