So they install ANPR purely for their own ends, it does not help the motorist in the slightest, in fact you have to jump through hoops to comply. Tt is there to reduce headcount, make catching people out easier, and to maximise revenue over costs.

When it goes wrong they blame the user and add in yet another hurdle backing up more hidden costs, in this advanced age of software / hardware advancement of course they can introduce checks where the system recognises mismatched or short VRNs some already do we have a car park near us that gives you a choice as you start typing, but of course that doesn't make money.

Yes, email them to the CMA parking team with an explanation and all documents.

We need to send them actual evidence of cases. And not just from me, evidence must come from the victims. It is just a matter of showing the CMA your evidence and pointing them in the right direction.

Mum’s had this reply to our response to the letter to claim.. I personally would tell them to stick it but mums not as ballsy as I am… is it the worst thing in the world if she pays the £20 at this stage??

    Thank you x

Upon reviewing your case, we note that you previously submitted an appeal. Although the appeal was unsuccessful, you were offered the opportunity to settle the Parking Charge at the reduced amount of £20.00.

Our records indicate that this payment was not made within the specified timeframe. As a result, the reduced settlement offer expired, and the Parking Charge remains outstanding.

Accordingly, the balance remains due and payable.

    WITHOUT PREJUDICE

Notwithstanding the previous statements, our client would be willing to accept £20.00 in full and final settlement of this matter.

Failure to make payment within 30 days from this email may result in a Claim being issued against you without any further reference for the full balance of £170.00.

Payment can be made via bank transfer to our designated client account: -

    • Account Name: DCB Legal Ltd Client Account
    • Sort Code: 20-24-09
    • Account Number: 60964441

You must quote the correct case reference () when making payment. If you do not, we may be unable to correctly allocate the payment. If further action is taken by us as a result of an incorrect reference being quoted, you will be liable for any further fees or costs incurred.

Its a conundrum, paying £20 when its likely to be a machine fault sticks in the craw, but saves the hassle of dealing with a court claim, even though they will eventually discontinue and mum will pay nothing at all

    Or

    Fight a future court claim

I would do the latter, like you, but some people want a quiet life. !

Whatever the decision, complain about it to the CMA
