Damage caused by insurance company contractor

Hi all,

Looking for some advise please;

My insurance company appointed one of their contractors to spray some new kitchen cupboard doors following water damage. As part of this, they failed to meet their advertised exact colour match scheme and also sprayed the old door accidently, without consent. This now leaves me with a miss-matched kitchen which doesn't fall under the liability of the policy.

The contractor has ignored all communication to resolve this. Who would be resposible for the damage? Would I need to consider an uninsured loss recovery process?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks, I will be doing this. However, this won’t resolve the issue with the insurance company as the damage falls outside of the scope of liability which is why it would be classed as uninsured loss.

The insurance company hired the contractor, so they are liable for any issues. Complain to them.

Its a complaint about their contractor on the existing claim not a new claim or uninsured loss

I thought you said the insurer contracted them to do this work?

I did, but they are telling me it’s outside of the policy. It’s a minefield for some reason and they don’t know how to handle the issue

For your existing claim have you been given another telephone number to call? My guess is you are speaking to the FNOL team who are the least trained people and mainly just register new claims rather than deal with issues on ongoing claims.
