Letter of Claim - DCB Legal
Hi,
I received a Letter of Claim from DCB Legal on behalf of Euro Car Parks for two parking notices from April and May 2025.
Some context, I am the leaseholder of a cafe/restaurant which is part of a bigger building (NHS Health Centre).
There is paid parking just outside the building, and 4 of my cars were added to the system so I can park there at anytime for however long. However, last year I parked my new car there before it was added to the system and got 2 parking notice charges.
I did let one of the operations manager know to sort but nothing was done.
I have since then tried tried to get the operation manager to send me a letter or email to state they are happy to cancel the fine so I can forward it to DCB Legal, however, after asking multiple times the response has been 'I can not intervene, it is out of my hands'.
At this stage, is it worth going above him and try to get written confirmation from them that they are happy to cancel the fine. Would an email suffice? The 'head tenant' who are in charging of the parking and the ones who got Euro Car Parks to set up the parking cameras/signs/etc are CHP (Community Health Partnerships). I have found the email of the 'director' from the South and East region - is it worth contacting him?
If the above doesn't work or you believe wouldn't help, what is the best approach to take in response to their letter?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.

There is no fine, just an unpaid outstanding Invoice from the private parking company
Yes, always keep trying plan A , complaining about it and demanding a cancellation by the landowner or similar
Email the LoC template response to DCB Legal

Thanks for the quick response. I will try to get in contact with the landowner.
Is this the template you mean:
Dear Sirs,Your ref: [insert reference number]
Proposed legal proceedings
Claimant: [insert name of parking company]
I refer to your letter of claim.
I confirm that my address for service for the time being is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:
[Insert correct address here]
You should revert to your client because the 'propensity to pay' score in my case is zero, so any claim is hopeless and a waste of the court fee (whether 'fronted' by your firm or not). Move on to weaker victims.
The alleged 'debt' is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.
Yours faithfully,

Just to add to this, shall I say I wasn't the driver at the time. I actually wasn't, it was my partner…

Probably doesn't matter, but no harm in it ( its not a defence. )

If the landowner won't cancel it, then never fear: let it go to a Claim Form and they'll discontinue by Xmas anyway. Very easy!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks. Shall I send the response asap or leave it until the end of the 30 days (19th March).

Only leave it if you need the delay , because leaving it to the last minute only delays the actual future court claim

Thanks. The only email I could find on the forum was either paul / danielle or info @dcblegal.co.uk.
The thread was from a while ago though, so I'll go for the 'info@' unless you believe there's a better one. Not that I think will make much difference! thanks

Be aware you have an extra space in the email address; this is a little foible of the new rich text editor, so it is: -
info@dcblegal.co.uk. There are also the following: -
dpocontact@dcblegal.co.uk
response@dcblegal.co.uk3
