Travel insurance quote

Recently had travel insurance for my wife and myself with Avanti. We are both in our seventies with medical issues,ie,hypertension, athritus. The policy was about 3 months old when I phoned to inform insurer about new medical condition,ie pacemaker.I was told it would cost another £200 on top of existing policy cost of £350 making total cost of £550 to include this.I was not happy and cancelled policy.Got a pro rata refund. My wife went online direct to Avanti website and got quote for £700.She also tried comparison website and got quote with with Avanti for £375.Not sure whether to go for cheaper option in case insurer,at later date or as a result of a claim, realises we already had cover which was cancelled, and decides not to honour claim.Any advice appreciated.

The first thing you need to do is compare the two policies. Policies via a comparison site are often pared down versions of their full fat product. Perhaps they don't cover Spain and its islands, not cover cancellation and may other things can be different. Make sure you are comparing apples with apples and not apples with oranges.

a lot of insurance companies have different policies with different levels of cover.

you really need to with the one you’ve cancelled with the one you are thinking about.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
