Help re Credit Rating
Really not sure this is the right place for this, so apologies in advance if it is not.
I am after some advice from the collective. My credit rating has been very poor in the past. I have worked really hard over the last few years to improve it. I am confused with the different ratings. When I log in to Experian my credit score is 1067 (Experian says that is good). I also use the Clear Score App which says my Equifax Score is 689 (Not great but above national average). However (and this is the confusing bit for me) when I log into Equifax themselves it says my credit score is 405 - poor. Can anyone explain how the Clear Score App that purports to be the Equifax rating is higher but the actual Equifax score is a lot lower?
Many thanks in advance.

It'll be worth reading the sticky thread further up (the gist being that the numbers can effectively be ignored):

The number is irrelevant, only you can see it.
What matters is the stuff in your report itself- do the different providers list the same financial information - e.g. credit cards/loans/mobile phone contracts/bank accounts + (if you have them) defaults, CCJs, missed payments...
That is the information that lenders /financial providers see and use, and you need to ensure is accurate and do work on to improve / maintain.

Yes, it is because they are randomly generated numbers produced for entertainment purposes only. They do not reflect your credit standing, lenders never see them and they can be ignored - unless, of course, you like collecting numbers 😁
