Without a battery you're likely to be exporting 60-70% of the electricity you generate.

If you check your smart meter, the export register will tell you how much electricity you've exported since it was installed. If you then check your generation meter readings (the solar meter) you can estimate how much you've generated in the same period.

Your situation sounds very similar to ours, although we are older……77 and 83…….we do not have a battery.

In 2024 we generated 3153 kWh and exported 1864 kWh. In 2025 we generated 3574 kWh and exported 2245 kWh. We are in central Scotland, roof faces very slightly west of directly south.,

Does your Smart meter show what you are exporting?

We are trying to work out if it would be financially sensible to get a battery, we have almost 11 years of FIT payments left, and it took 9-10 years to break even. The income more than covers all our gas and electricity bills.
