Halfix take away interest free

Can anyone help me? I went into hospital in the summer as I gave birth prematurely and missed a payment on my card. I paid it as soon as I got out and they took off the charge. I found out in December that they took away the 12 month interest free period and I have unknowingly been paying interest since July! They did not advise me either by letter or over the phone that they would be doing this. I have requested that they pay back all the interest and haven't had a responce so am going to write them a letter. Do I have any rights - I don't know what I can threaten them with!!

I have recently transferred a balance and on the Terms on the back of the statement it clearly says if you miss, or are late with a payment interest immediately becomes due at the normal rate. The 0% is terminated straight away. This is a LLoyds card.0

That is what most now have on their T&C's. So write a nice letter and appell on their conscience and maybe put in proof that you were in hospital at that time. They might say you should have set up a DD or standing order.
If no joy look for a new 0% card. Egg does a 15 month and 3% balance transfer fee at this time.0 -
Your card T&C's state...
...and have done for a long time now. They also state...We may apply the standard interest rate during any special promotion period to any transaction if in any month you do not make at least your minimum payment by the payment date or if you exceed your credit limit at any time.
...so they'll want to know why it's taken you so long to realise.2.2 We will send you a monthly statement...
I'm afraid you're going to have to work very hard to get anywhere with this. Your "rights" are to complain politely and calmly, explain your situation last Summer, and hope that they show some compassion.
Good luck.0
