Successfully Defeated Private Parking Ticket
I received a parking ticket from Euro Car Parks in March 2024. The incident was in Scotland and I was not the driver so I ignored all the letters as is standard. A few months later I was contacted by DCB Legal who said they would be pursuing me for 330£ - can't remember how they got to that figure. At this point I just continued to ignore and had not read the excellent threads on this forum. In the summer of 2025, I was contacted by the county court and DCB said they'd continue pursuing despite me saying I was not the driver and in Scotland I do not have to legally tell them who was driving.
After the letter from the county court, I started to read the threads here which were incredibly helpful and reassuring. I wish I had googled and found them earlier! Even without following all the guidance from the start, Euro Car Parks and DCB dropped the case and I received the N279 earlier this month.
I have only made an account and this thread to express my gratitude for everyone on here who has made the various threads. Particularly @Umkomaas (N279 is attached for your thread!). What I cannot understand is how the government allows this to continue; what a waste of the courts time!

Thank you @veuve1772 for the copy of your NoD . I can now get this counted in the DCBL Legal thread of shame. 👍
But why did the CNBC issue a claim to an address in Scotland? Did the address shown on the claim form include ‘Scotland’ in it? What are DCB Legal playing at suing via an address outside of jurisdiction?
Is this ripe for a CMA complaint? They seem to be keen to give ECP a poke! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yeah, I live in England and the car is registered in England but is kept at my house in Scotland.
