VAT on silver bullion
Hope no-one minds me checking a very simple point?
Buy (say) a one ounce silver bullion coin. VAT payable on purchase price.
If you were then to sell the coin back to the same dealer -and the silver spot price hadn’t changed much - you’d ‘pay’ the dealer’s margin. (buying v selling price), plus you’d effectively lose the VAT amount?
Thinking about buying a couple of coins and just want to be very clear about this.

If you're buying for investment then why not buy gold which is VAT free? Even better gold coins are also CGT free

You could try buying "second hand" silver coins - they are sometimes advertised as VAT free.
