In my lawn this appeared.

II thought maybe a bit of broccoli I'd dropped. No it's attached. There is another small bit nearby.

Plantnet doesn't help. New to this phone I haven't mastered much. Can anyone help please?

It's damp and wipes off but sticks to you.

Looking now it may be growing on a dandelion.

It looks like a type of slime mould

My guess is dog vomit slime mould, or a slime mould of some other name. I'm not an expert in these things though.

Google image suggests: Commonly known as dog sick slime mold or white slime mold (Mucilago crustacea).

Wow that was a swift response 😊 thank you.

I'll look it up tonight by name and see what to do.

It's bright and not yet raining for the first time in forever so keen to take advantage.

You don’t need to do anything, slime moulds are harmless and it will disappear just as quickly as it appeared. Do look them up though, they are fascinating life forms with a really weird life cycle.

Just heard about them on a radio podcast about the science of brain implants!

Must listen again. The infinite monkey cage.

Yes, they seem to have affected my brassicas each year and now dandelions. They can have the dandelion and welcome 😁
