State Pension and tax code 2026/27

One had a payment early February so suggests January start date but no later than early February. Received a tax code for 2026/27 dated 27th January with correct tax code deduction of £12,536. Just received another letter with 2026/27 tax code saying £12,306 although Gateway account still shows £12,536.
The other February one says he reaches SPA this month. They will all have applied 4 months prior to reaching SPA.

Interesting. Is the January/early Feb person a taxpayer in this current tax year?
Are they certain the codes for 2026/27 are that way round, £12,536 being in the first code and that has now been replaced with £12,306?
When you say their Gateway account still shows £12,536 where exactly is this shown? As a stand alone State Pension amount or as a deduction in their latest tax code for 2026/27? Or somewhere else?

Yes current taxpayer as has an NHS pension.
They are certain as in dates received but the 2nd letter doesn’t give a specific date - just says January 2026.
It’s shown as a deduction in the tax code.0 -
I can't think why this would happen but I suspect the tax codes have arrived in the wrong order, especially if their Personal Tax Account currently shows the tax code deduction as £12,536.
£12,536 being the correct 1+51 value.

Yes this one perhaps doesn’t fit the issue completely. We shall see how many more appear with the same problem as I suspect there will be quite a few.

And whether, for the others, the problem stops being a problem a few days after HMRC get details of the pension starting in February or March 🤔

Looking at my Personal Tax account iy gives £12536 as State Pension figure for 2026/27
If the weekly amount is £241.32 (estimate nobody has told me yet) that's about 51.95 weeks or indeed 363.66 days.
Not too worried as never work out my tax to the nearest pound!

Incidently, my tax code for next year is 3L and gives me £34 tax free for the year (plus the state pension of course)
12536 plus 34 = 12570 sweet as a nut
Probably will be last time my code makes sense to me before they start messing

Is it not 1 week of the 2025/26 rate and 51 weeks of the 2026/27 rate (assuming you reached State Pension age after 5 April 2010)?

Sounds like at least one person has it calculated correctly. When did you reach SPA?
The tax code calculation is 51 weeks at £241.30 and 1 week at £230.25 so spot on at £12,536 if you reached SPA on or after 6th April 2010.
